ADULT & YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID

Thanks to our Family, Health, & Well-Being committee and a grants funded by various partners, Safe & Sound Hillsborough offers free in-person and virtual Adult, Youth and Teen Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training in partnership with the Children’s Board of Hillsborough CountyCrisis Center of Tampa Bay, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Central Florida Behavioral Health Network, Inc. and various community organizations. Instructors are certified through the National Council for Mental Wellbeing‘s Mental Health First Aid public education program that helps individuals across the community to understand mental illnesses, support timely intervention and save lives.

Adult & Youth Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Training Schedule

Youth MHFA – Thursday, March 23 | Register | This training is for adults that work or interact with youth.

Courses are FREE and ONLY open to residents or individuals that work in Hillsborough County.

Please note, although courses are offered free to the public, the hosting organizations incur a cost to provide this training certification ($175 value). Please register only if you are sure that you will be able to attend. Spaces are limited. Only 1 registration per person allowed. Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. This 8-hour training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to appropriate care.
