Dexter Lewis is a Tampa native. He graduated from Blake High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, where he did the music theater program. He also studied Music Theater at the Boston Conservatory for 2 years where he did a plethora of productions and realized his passion for helping others. He holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of South Florida. While in College he volunteered for countless gubernatorial and local races. After graduating from college he worked as a Field Organizer for the Charlie Crist for Governor Campaign. He oversaw the organizing over 16,000 residents in North and Central Tampa to increase voter turnout.
Before joining the Safe & Sound team, Dexter spent the last and a half working as the Director of Partnerships with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay in Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Polk Counties. He worked with business leaders, community leaders, and elected officials to bring in more resources and volunteers into the organization. Dexter’s goal is to work for an organization like Safe and Sound that continues to make our communities prosperous for all of its citizens.
